SCOTLAND'S Clare Queen and Lynn Kenny could only manage a tie for 13th after a final-round 73, as England's Trish Johnson and Rebecca Hudson became the first VCI European Ladies' Cup winners at La Sella Golf Club near Alicante in Spain.
Johnson and Hudson deserved the win having led from start to finish, and a final-round 71 helped them to an 18-under-par total and a runaway five-shot win over Germany's Anje Monke and Martina Eberl, who staged a final-day charge with a 64, and Belgium's Ellen Smets and Lara Tadiotto (71).

Kenny and Queen, who had fine team records for Scotland as amateurs, never really managed to make a mark in their first time playing for Scotland as professionals.

In the unusual final day greensomes format, they started brightly with back- to-back birdies, but then dropped out of contention.
